K9Helper is run by Helen and Dave a husband and wife team with four dogs and five cats of their own - and a parrot!

Dave works as a volunteer for the RSPCA in his spare time.

This is their story:

"When we go away we always take our dogs with us, why? because apart from enjoying their company and the walks, we never felt that anyone else could look after them as well as we do.  Kennels are a definite no for us.  We only ever used kennels once for our Jack Russell and he came home so traumatised that we vowed never to leave any of our dogs in kennels again. That was when we realised that there must be other pet owners in the same situation. Our dogs and cats, and the parrot of course, are our family and we love them as much as we love our children (the children would probably tell you that we love the animals more!!!). We are dedicated to giving our clients and their pets the best possible service.  We are lucky that we have grown-up sons and daughters who look after our cats if we go away, but many people have to rely on a kindly neighbour to feed and water them and that is not always possible. So we decided to set up our own dog walking and pet sitting service, We walk dogs because we enjoy it. Every dog or cat we care for is treated in the same way that we treat our own animals. We pride ourselves on "going the extra mile" and our past and present clients will bear witness to this."
